Nokia 9 Pureview: What Stirs A Photography Hobbyist

Nokia holds a very good place in my heart. I’ve never owned any of their fancy ones before, but I was able to use a few of them somehow. As far as I can recall, I was able to use an N95 from their N series line-up.

Just this February 2019, the company announced their new line-up of smartphones. What stirs me the most is their five-camera set-up smartphone, the Nokia 9 preview. As a photography hobbyist the whole new set-up will bring a new perspective in smartphone photography.

Camera Specs

The rear panel houses five 12 MP cameras that collects up to 10 times lighter than the regular single-lensed smartphone camera sensor. As per Nokia, the results of the photos will be with superb dynamic range, great details, true-to-life bokeh and color reproduction.

These five cameras are co-engineered with ZIESS. Two of which captures RGB and the other three captures monochrome. I have to remark that the cameras can capture RAW DNG photos in the stock camera app. You can then edit these images for more pro-looking pictures using the Adobe Lightroom Mobile app that you can download from initial set-up on the phone.

High Dynamic Range photos and videos that capture with Nokia 9 preview will provide an unparalleled dynamic range with awesome details within the highlights and shadows. AI is as well integrated with the cameras, making them adapt automatically depending on the scene. Don’t expect any telephoto or wide-angle lenses as these cameras come in the same focal length of 28 mm f/1.8 aperture.
