Instagram has merely one billion active users every month. It is one of the mainstream social media platform of all time since it has launched last 2010.

One definitive feature of this social platform is the follower and like counts. The more followers and likes the more happy hormones are released.

Instagram has been working on a feature that hide the number of likes on posts. Likes will only be shown to the person who made the post.

A 24 yr old, Jane Manchun Wong, a computer science major of University of Massachusetts Dartmouth recently tweeted about this prototype feature.

In a statement to The Verge, an Instagram spokesman said:

“We’re not testing this at the moment, but exploring ways to reduce pressure on Instagram is something we’re always thinking about.”

Farewell to likes!

Getting rid of likes from posts would be a radical move from Instagram. A lot influencers have been putting up photos for likes and attentions nowadays. Considerably, I have been using Instagram for quite so long. This change from Instagram will definitely affect the  way I use the platform.
